Our ‘Sounds of Spring’ concert provided a showcase for the breadth of musical talent displayed by our pupils. Vocal and instrumental performances, ranging from Year 8 pupils making their debut to the assured performances from our seasoned Year 14 performers, were met with enthusiastic applause from a capacity audience. Of particular distinction was Ryan McNeill of Year 14, who performed not only a virtuoso solo on piano, but was also the composer of a fine instrumental ensemble piece ‘Walking through Paris’ – as well as accompanying on piano and playing tin whistle. With highly successful performances from so many pupils, and such great potential on display from year 8 and 9 pupils, we can look forward to great concerts to come at LGS. Congratulations to all the pupils involved and thanks to the many staff who performed, and our visiting music tutors who offer the chance to develop out pupils’ talent for musical performance.
