A-Levels at LGS

Share
We warmly encourage our current Year 12 students to continue their education at Limavady Grammar School but also welcome students from other schools to join us in studying A-Levels in our caring, yet disciplined community. Pupils receive careers information and guidance in school to help them make their Post-GCSE choices, and an information evening is held to annually to provide parents/guardians with advice. You will find copies of the latest A-Level Subject Booklet, Choices Form and Help Sheet below. You can also find a copy to the presentation given to Year 12 parents and pupils in December.

Expression of Interest

If you are in Year 12 at another school but are interested in transferring to Limavady Grammar School, please follow the link below.

All pupils entering Year 13 in September are expected to meet our preferred criteria. In addition, each subject has set their own preferred minimum requirements. Please check the A-Level Choices booklet above for specific criteria.

Education Maintenance Allowance

If you are 16 and staying in education you may be eligible for Education Maintenance Allowance. It is available for both academic and vocational courses.

The Education Maintenance Allowance, known as EMA, is an allowance of £30 a week, which is paid fortnightly to students who fall within the household income thresholds listed on the EMA website and are the correct age.

It is intended to help cover the day-to-day costs that you have to meet when you stay on at school or college like travel costs, books and equipment for your course.
