LGS Christmas Card Competition
When our art teacher dropped the news about the Christmas card design competition, my heart practically did a little dance! I absolutely live for art, so there was no question about it – I just had to enter.
The night before the deadline was a blur of excitement and concentration. I ended up spending about three blissful hours, totally lost in the world of acrylic paints. My vision? A breathtaking winter wonderland: a peaceful landscape blanketed in fresh snow, a proud, tall tree standing majestically, all nestled under a sky bursting with the most captivating, vibrant colours you could imagine. Every stroke felt like magic!
Then came the agonizing week of waiting for the results. Mrs. Madden had the monumental task of sifting through all the incredible entries. My stomach was doing flip-flops! But then, the moment finally arrived – the winners were announced, and when I heard my name, a tidal wave of pure joy washed over me! I had won first place! And the prizes? An awesome Amazon voucher to fuel my next creative adventure, plus some delicious chocolate to celebrate. Could it get any better?
Honestly, it was so much fun, like, seriously so much fun! I enjoyed every single second of taking part in that competition. And seeing my art celebrated like that? It’s just the best feeling in the world!”

LGS Christmas Window Painting
My teacher Mrs Lowth gave us the task of painting the windows in the canteen for the Christmas period.
I really enjoyed painting the windows. It allowed me to experiment with the acrylic paint and it was different to create something that can be seen from both sides of the transparent glass. It could then be seen in different ways at different perspectives. It was also fun to be able to make Christmas designs to match the season which was a different and interesting thing to experience and create.
Everyone complimented us on our artwork. A really enjoyable activity.
