P5- Superhero Sports Day

Discover Your Superpower

Limavady Grammar A2 PE students hosted an action-packed Superhero Sports Day for P5 pupils from local primary schools, centered around the exciting theme of “Discover Your Superpower!” The day was a fantastic success, with our superheroes engaging in a variety of activities designed to get them moving and feeling mighty.

The P5 pupils enthusiastically participated in a range of challenges. Yoga sessions helped them find their inner calm and focus, while circuit training put their strength and endurance to the test. Without a doubt, the most thrilling event of the day involved the gymnastic ropes and bars, where pupils swung, climbed, and tumbled, truly embracing their acrobatic potential.

A highlight for many was the chance to go head-to-head with some iconic figures. P5s eagerly took on both the Hulk and Spiderman in a series of fun and challenging physical contests, creating memorable moments and plenty of laughter.

Our own A2 students truly embodied the ethos of LGS throughout the event. They showed excellent leadership skills, guiding and encouraging the younger pupils with enthusiasm and patience. Their efforts made the day not only enjoyable but also incredibly beneficial for the P5s.

To celebrate their fantastic efforts, prizes were awarded to the “superheroes” who demonstrated the best effort in each activity. It was clear that every P5 pupil left with a sense of accomplishment and perhaps, a newfound appreciation for their own unique superpowers!

A Christmas Adventure!

Our LGS grounds were transformed into a winter wonderland, as P6 pupils from local primary schools took part in a Christmas-themed event to remember! The day centered around two obstacle courses; Winter Wonderland and Elf Expressway.

The P6 pupils embraced the challenges, navigating a series of fun and festive obstacles. They had to take on tractor tyres, dodge snowballs, and conquer a range of other Christmas-themed challenges. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and excitement.

Adding to the fun, the Grinch himself made an appearance, causing mayhem around the courses much to the excitement of the P6 pupils. Following the obstacle course, the pupils enjoyed a fun run around our beautiful grounds. We were delighted to be able to award prizes to those P6 pupils who made it to the podium.

The event was a success, and everyone involved had a great time. It was a fantastic way to celebrate the festive season and create lasting memories for the P6 pupils.
