An encouraging season it was the Under 14 rugby squad, filled with significant development and memorable moments!
We got off to a flying start, securing well-earned victories against Dalriada and Cambridge House- two fixtures that truly tested our early-season resolve. Following these successes, we faced a challenging period with tough encounters against Coleraine Grammar, Foyle College, Larne, and Omagh. These matches, though difficult, proved invaluable for our growth as a team.
A standout moment was undoubtedly our blitz tournament. The team delivered a brilliant collective performance, securing strong wins over Antrim and Wellington. It was particularly exciting to see eight different players cross the try line, highlighting the depth of talent and teamwork within the squad. We concluded our season with the sevens tournament, where despite not getting the results we hoped for, the boys gained valuable experience.
This season marked a huge step forward for the Under 14 rugby team. We welcomed new players who quickly found their feet and made significant contributions. The team consistently demonstrated improvement, securing great wins against skilled opposition.
We celebrated the season’s efforts at our rugby awards:
MVP: David Thomas- For his consistent outstanding performances and leadership on the field.
Most Improved: Lucas Villa- Recognising his dedication and impressive development throughout the season.
Captain’s Award: Tom Howe- For his exemplary leadership, commitment, and guidance of the team.

It has been a pleasure to coach the Under 14 team this season and to see the development made throughout a challenging year. I look forward to seeing them progress into Medallion rugby next year and wish them all the best, they are always a pleasure to work with. I would also like to thank all of the parents for their invaluable support.
