Raise your dice bags and warhammers because the Dungeons and Dragons Club has had another fantastic year! While we’ve always been lucky enough to have plenty of adventurers in our number, this year saw new students from every year group joining us to form gaming groups to suit every taste and it was great to see our newcomers being led through a slew of adventures by some of our now veteran Dungeon Masters.
Whether you had a fondness for ghosts and goblins or blades and barbarians, the level of creativity and inventiveness on display from our students was always impressive. Some of the story-telling was truly fantastic (if a touch off-kilter on occasion!) and of particular note were Charlie Delap, Daniel Millen and Jack Sherrard, whose entries into the yearly creative writing competition earned them the prize of a hand-painted miniature apiece.
Away from the gaming table however, it’s been great to see the club becoming a space for students to make lasting friendships across year groups. The atmosphere each week has been unfailingly warm, inviting and full of life and the requests to keep playing for ‘just five more minutes’ has become a weekly refrain that myself and Miss. Craig are very proud of.
So why not pay us a visit? Whether you’re looking for new friends, a new hobby, or just the opportunity to immerse yourself in a fantasy world for a while, the Dungeons and Dragons Club will always be happy to see you!
