On May 1st our now annual Rock Festival was a vibrant and unforgettable event that brought together pupils from every year group. Zach Deighan hosted the night, introducing our eight bands as they took to the stage, each representing their respective year groups and showcasing an eclectic mix of music. From rock and pop to country and indie, the variety of genres ensured that there was something for everyone to enjoy. For the first time, we even had a DJ set from Fionn O’Kane in Year 8.

The festival was not just about the music; it was a full-fledged celebration with a BBQ, ice-cream van and face-painting. Circus performers added an extra layer of excitement, entertaining the crowd with their acrobatics, juggling, and stilt walking. The combination of live music and circus acts created a dynamic and engaging atmosphere.

Each band’s performance was met with enthusiastic applause and cheers from the audience. The students’ talent and hard work were evident in their polished performances, with a final standout showcase from our Senior Rock Band, including Scott Hawthorne, Ethan McKinney and Adam Thompson performing for the last time on an LGS stage.

The atmosphere was electric, with families, friends, and teachers coming together to support the young musicians. The sense of community was strong, and the festival was a resounding success, leaving everyone eagerly anticipating the next outdoor music extravaganza.
