The 2nd XI started off the season with mixed results, but showed determination to prove ourselves as a young squad, with many of the team having just stepped up into senior hockey. After a few matches the team began to gel together and the results began to reflect this. We bowed out of the McDowell Cup in the first round after losing on penalty runs but as a squad were determined to shine in the Plate. Wins over Dalriada and Down High School saw us progress to the Quater Finals, where we lost after a tough fought match against Wallace High School. This season showed the potential for the 2’s with effort and talents being displayed from all ends of the pitch, superb saves from keeper Hannah H and the defence. The midfield worked tirelessly to create space and drive up the pitch. This created the opportunity for great goals from forwards and midfielders to be scored. Overall an excellent season from the 2nd XI!
