At LGS we encourage students to use their voices for the greater good and speak out on issues important to them. The newly formed Current Affairs Society gives students a place to express their opinions and views on matters… well, that matter!

Chess Club

LGS Chess Club is one of the most popular clubs with all ages competing against each other and often a 45 minute lunch is not long enough to win that all important game. Photographs are quickly taken so the game can be reset to play again the following lunchtime.

It was a busy year at 180 with plenty of visiting speakers and some after school events.

We welcomed Chris Cunningham, Daniel Peters, Andrew Ritchie, Chris Boucher and Rachel Miller (SU E3 Worker) who all lead different sessions on faith, the Bible and living as a Christian today.

Year 12 Coffee Morning

Year 12 pupils organised a coffee morning in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support and Angel Wishes. A total of £700 was raised, and split between both charities.

Christmas Jumpers

In 2022, we finished term 1 with a Christmas Jumper Day to raise money for Save the Children and the PTA. You can check out some of the festive outfit in the pictures below!

Colour Run

In November, the Year 14 A2 PE class organised and delivered a Colour Run for Year 8 -11, raising £1000 for the Parents’ Association and money for the PE department to purchase new equipment.

Junior Ski Trip

On 10 February 2023, 81 pupils and 8 staff departed from Dublin airport with Seefeld, Austria their destination for the week.  Pupils had a fun week learning to ski, visiting the beautiful town of Seefeld and enjoying apres ski with their friends.

True Colours Exhibitions Visit 2023

In February our GCSE and AS level classes visited the True Colours Exhibition at the Ulster Museum in Belfast.  We were able to see the incredible work of GCSE and A level pieces and gather inspiration.
We were able to witness techniques and media that we may have never thought of trying out before

Terex Female Workwear Competition

At the beginning of February, two classmates and myself were selected during the shortlisting process by Terex to represent Limavady Grammar School.  We were tasked to design a new workwear for woman in the industry which was a more comfortable fit for the female form.

UNIQ Summer Residential Programme

I’m delighted to have received a place on one of Oxfords’ academic UNIQ summer residentials where I will spend four days in one of the University’s colleges studying and experiencing University life.
