Every year the Art and Design Department hold a Christmas card competition for the year 9 pupils. They were asked to complete a design based on a landscape, using the skills that they had been developing in art and design. As with every previous year, the pupils could not wait to get started.

Bursting with excitement the pupils started with their sketch and explored a variety of watercolour techniques and after the paint had dried, Mrs Madden was then given the challenge to select the final winners – given how fantastic all entries were, this proved to be quite a challenge!

The top winners were:

• 1st place: Maddison Milligan 9v
• 2nd place: Ava Boyd 9x
• Joint 3rd place: Matthew Laird 9x
• Joint 3rd place: Nicole McMurray 9y
