On Sunday 30th April, 13 students and 7 staff travelled to Belfast, to take part in the Belfast City Marathon Relay event. Also in our number was Miss Craig who was completing the whole marathon!

This is our 10th year taking part in the event and this year £2250 has been raised in sponsorship to support aid efforts in Ukraine, through the Samaritan’s Purse charity. This brings our running total for charitable collections raised through the marathon relay teams since 2011 to £12,550.

A huge congratulations to all our relay runners and to Miss Craig who completed the whole in 5 hours 8 minutes and 29 seconds – a new PB, what a legend! While our first Relay team finished in 3 hours 54 mins with the other 3 teams not far behind.

We look forward to participating again next year and hope we have encouraged a new generation of Marathon Relay participants in LGS. See you next year!
