In the Autumn we went to see two of the Ireland November series games. Our Y9 group was treated to an exciting game of Rugby. Ireland beat the Springboks 19-16 in a closely contested match between the world’s number-one ranked side and the reigning world champions. This historic match was enjoyed by all.
“It was an amazing experience to see Jonny Sexton lead a victorious Ireland in his last Autumn Series before he retires and Ireland win the World Cup!”
Alex M and Matthew L, Y9.
The following week our enthusiastic year 8’s traveled to see Ireland beat Fiji 35-17 at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin. Although for some of that group it wasn’t always the Rugby that took center stage!
“The Apple Green was class, there was good craic on the bus and the seats were amazing”. Riley M, Y8
“I loved the atmosphere, the crowd and especially the Mexican wave and it was brilliant that Ireland won!”
Grace G, Y8
In the new year our Year 11’s went to watch Ireland emphatically beat France 32-19 in the Six Nations. It was a tense start as these two teams were ranked one and two in the world at that time.
“It was a fantastic display. The atmosphere was electric as both teams were at full strength. Mr. Doey was giving it large as if he was at a Coleraine away game.”
