We are delighted to announce that Limavady Grammar School has been awarded the prestigious International School Award presented by the British Council. This award recognises the wide range of international links and exchanges in the school, most notably the French and Spanish exchanges, the various pen-pal links organised by the Modern Languages Department, the A-Level French trip to Brussels, the Physics trip to Geneva and the Technology trip to Munich, as well as the activities organised to celebrate the European Day of Languages in September. In assessing our application, the British Council commented that “Limavady Grammar School is enriching its pupils’ education and encouraging them to become global citizens through its international links. Its pupils are engaged in activities in authentic settings that will have improved their linguistic skills and understanding of other cultures.” We are delighted to receive this award and look forward to further developing our international dimension in the years ahead.
