To develop their citizenship skills and to appreciate the challenges of the Ulster Plantation of 1610, pupils research, and designed and present their own fictional colonies, giving their lands identities and constitutions. Year 11-14 Digital Technology and SSD students attended a Cybersecurity workshop facilitated by Rapid7. Participants had to solve a number of challenges, as a City Council came under attack from an unidentified hacker group, within a 1 hour deadline. Casey’s Creatures came along today for our year 8 students who are currently learning about classification in Junior Science! Pupils got to meet Nemo the meerkat, Nala the raccoon dog and many more fascinating animals! Some of our year 8’s even wanted to know if they could get a skunk as a pet…

Staff enjoyed a coffee morning/lunch on Friday to raise funds for MacMillan Cancer Support.  We had quite the spread from homemade caramel squares to carrot cake.  A total of approximately £300 was raised! A huge thank you to all staff who contributed in any way!

European Day of Languages was celebrated in school this week with a French breakfast.  Pupils and staff were treated to a pain au chocolat and a chocolat chaud whilst listening to Edith Piaf.
