Pupils from Year 8 and Y11 at Limavady Grammar School volunteered to paint a garden shed for LCDI over the Easter holidays. Limavady Community Development Initiative (LCDI) in partnership with the Western Health and Social Care Trust (WHSCT) provides day opportunities for clients with a range of learning disabilities. The clients, supported by staff and a team of volunteers, carry out a range of horticultural tasks including producing plants for hanging baskets and window boxes. These and other produce will be sold from the painted shed later in the year.
It is important for the pupils to use the skills they have learned and to leave their legacy for the local community to enjoy. It has been a fun project and despite the cold and rain the pupils have managed to bring sunshine and joy to all who see and use the shed. Thanks to Mrs McCluskey for coordinating and well done to all pupils involved!
