During mid term break in February, 78 students and 8 staff ventured to Pinzolo Italy, for the school ski trip. The group flew from City of Derry Airport and the journey seemed a dream compared to larger airports that the school had used in the past. So we arrived in good spirits in verona with the bus journey ahead of us. The resort provided a picturesque setting for the week’s activities and much to the staff and pupils delight, the hotel was certainly very comfortable with great food each day.

Approximately 95%  of the students were taking to the slopes for the first time in their lives and the progress they made during the week was exceptional. We quickly seemed at home on the piste and most importantly, found the joys of a bowl of hot chips or bowls of pasta  and pizza  in the mountaintop restaurant. After a hard day’s skiing, we enjoyed a quiz,  ice skating , swimming pool,  shopping trips in town all run by staff.

We also went for a meal out in a local restaurant as a group.

As the week drew to a close, we were sad to be leaving the mountains for another year. Everyone throughout the week got on great and thanks all of the staff who made it possible.
