With superb conditions and outstanding grounds provided by Mr Dessie Loughery, the scene was set for the 2024 LGS Sports Day.
Pupils had been in training for 6 -8 weeks prior, with many endeavoring to beat a school record. Only 2 records were beaten this year with the standard and competition level improving each and every year! The Year 9 Girls 800m record was smashed by Anna Lindsey by over 12 seconds and the Year 11 Boys 4 x 100m relay also smashed by almost 5 seconds.
The participation level was outstanding, the atmosphere electric and the fun had by all was very evident – maybe too much by the staff relay competitors!
The school community came together for one of the biggest calendar events of the year and yet again LGS sports day proved to be a huge team success.
