With a young, newly formed 1st XI team, it was only expected time would be needed to connect and rebuild the 1st XI squad. That being said, Year 11 goal keeper Hannah more than stepped up to the mark during preseason friendlies, saving numerous shots and showing confidence beyond her years. With preseason over, the 1st XI played their Super League Tier A fixtures against some of the best hockey schools in the country. Despite several defeats, the team showed great determination and perseverance, it was against Ballyclare the hard work paid off where the match concluded in a draw. The 1st XI grew in the confidence to tackle the season ahead. During our first cup game against Grosvenor GS our ability shone through, as we secured the win by fighting to the end despite being 2-1 down in the first half. Unfortunately we bowed out of the cup in the later stages. Our biggest success of the season was that of the Derry and Antrim League, we started strong keeping a clean sheet against Cambridge house and almost beating Rainey Endowed in our home fixture before Christmas, It was evident by the end of the season, how far the team had come by securing a victory against Daliradam in a thrilling end to end match. All which helped us to finish 3rd in the Derry and Antrim league.
